After years of devoted caring for her mother, Desma Mitchell started volunteering at Coffs Harbour Health Campus looking for a meaningful way to contribute and share her experience.
Desma was quickly engaged by the Carer Program to be part of an innovative project assisting carers to access support for themselves. The program also promotes opportunities to share knowledge about the person they care for and, importantly, to be recognised by health staff as partners in care.
